We're proud to announce that arken P-O-P is an officially certified B Corporation
In doing so, we’re in good company. arken joins a community of thousands of companies—including Aesop, The Body Shop, Patagonia, and Tony’s Chocolonely, that are using business as a force for good.
What it means to be a B Corp
B Corps are a movement of businesses that believe in balancing purpose and profit. By joining them, we’ve committed to doing business in a responsible way. As part of the B Corp community, we can learn from other businesses and share some of we've learnt with our clients, partners, and industry peers too.
The process is rigorous. Every part of your business is looked at through a microscope to make sure you're meeting the highest standards of social and environmental performance. It demanded sustained, focused, hard work and—that’s okay. It’s why we’re delighted to get certified
on our first try.
Based on this, we have been given an overall score of 84.3 points, based on a range of things, from our high-level vision, mission, and business ambitions to employee diversity and energy use. For a bit of context, Nespresso also scored 84 points, so we’re confident we’re on the right track. Businesses who score more than 80 points are officially certified and must be recertified every three years.

Doing business, the right way
But being a B Corp is about more than getting a certificate. It's about proving that business can be done differently – it’s an opportunity for us to step forward and show others that business can (and should) be a force for good. Something that we’ve really been doing for 75 years…
From striving to be responsible in our actions, working in ways that protect the environment, to supporting the wellbeing and livelihoods of our employees and giving back locally through community initiatives. It’s not always the quickest or easiest path, but it’s the right thing to do. And to everyone here at arken, that matters.
So, what are we committing to?
Going through this whole process has been extremely valuable. It’s forced us to reflect on where we are in terms of social and environmental impact, and ask ourselves: How can we do better? And yes, we have a long way to go, but as we know, starting is often the hardest part.
As a certified B Corporation, we’re excited to get started with these key goals:
-
Create meaningful change. We’ll continue to use our platform to empower people and support retailers and brands in our industry who are trying to raise awareness and drive change through their retail marketing activities. We also want to invite others in the retail industry to follow suit and join us in using business as a force for good
-
Set more ambitious goals. We’re now a powerful example of a P-O-P manufacturer balancing its commitment to clients, employees, the planet, and local community. We want to continue our efforts by setting yearly goals to keep building an inclusive, sustainable, and generally better industry that works for everyone.
-
Choose the right partners. We’ll continue to source and manufacture locally wherever possible and find partners who share our values-driven approach to business, growth, and the way we meet the needs of retail marketers.
